Revlon High Intensity Eyeshadow Palette in Blissful girl

When I saw this on medplus beauty I was so surprised because I hadn’t seen it anywhere else and was wondering if it was a fake. But when I mailed them and asked them about it they assured me that it was genuine and I even got it from them.

I have the shade blissful girl and this one costs about INR 825 for 8 shades. I think that is an awesome deal.

The fact that the ingredients are listed is so cool. Even the may contain list.

Bourjois Lovely Brille Lipstick in Violine Estival

I can’t find this lipstick anywhere anymore I’m very sad about that.

Thought I would write an ode rave review to my favourite lipstick in the hopes that they will bring it back to India.

This cost around INR 550 if I remember right, I may be wrong. But when I was looking at it I thought, Oh My god, such a hefty price for a non MAC lipstick. But after trying it out I couldn’t resist.

It was the softest, smoothest most comfortable lipstick I have ever used in my entire life.

The lipstick is a very plummy purple colour and at first I wasn’t drawn to it at all. I thought it was an old persons lipstick, but it comes out very sheer. Like a gloss.

It makes my lips look moisturised and plump, lush and makes me look like I have a 15 yr olds lips. I’m actually 22. Lol, yes I know, not that old, but my lips never used to dry when I was 15.

Inglot Under Makeup Base Review

You guys are well aware of this product. It is a well known one and a definitely excellent cheaper alternative to the MAC primers.

It costs about 900INR for 30 ML and yes, that is expensive. But not as expensive as MAC which is what i was aiming for (definitely cheaper than the new Bourjois Primer too)

It is available in all Inglot stores world over and can be purchased online in India here.

It is a gel texture, transparent and very thick. Spreads smoothly and easily and makes skin silky smooth to the touch. It makes my makeup last longer and also helps it go on smoother. Doesn’t cover pores which is something that I am not happy about but still gives a reasonably smooth looking finish.

Young Antioxidant Pomegranate Body lotion

I am not feeling well at all today. Been having a headache for the past few days but managed to put up some posts, today evening is the worst of all. Unable to do anything. but just thought I’d finish this quick review.

Today i shall be reviewing the Young – Discover Youthopia body lotion. They have only one body lotion and that is in a pomegranate flavour. You would have seen my earlier post about this brand Young: Discover Youthopia. These can be purchased on Goodlife and on their own website. The lotion costs about 270INR for 100ML.

What the company claims: “Pomegranate seed oil is very nutrient rich and full of antioxidants. It revitalizes mature skin and improves skin elasticity and skin tone giving your skin a healthy glow. While certified organic clarified butter (cow ghee) and aloe leaf juice soften and nourish your skin the protective nature of kokum butter (garcinia indica) keeps the skin hydrated. Orange essential oil acts as a very good skin tonic and soothes dry and irritated skin.”

I have been using it for quite a while now, almost a month. Love it totally. The product is a beautifully scented lotion, lightweight, soft, easily absorbed and a good product altogether. Bet you’ve never heard me say that about a product eh  

My friends call me the evil critic. I don’t think I’m so bad but I won’t say anything about that now. Just in case you all say the same.

Review: L’oreal 24hour super liner in Brown

So I know that MAC Fluidline is the world’s HG liner but honestly it isn’t mine. I know it is fabulous. But it isn’t on my HG Products list. I will review that in a week or so but this, is something special.

I am not a big fan of L’Oreal products save for their foundations (I haven’t even tried most of them)  but this one, is something different. It is something special.

Review: Young Foundation Shade 1D

If you have been reading my blog regularly you would know that I had done a Brand Spotlight post about this brand.

Their products are totally made of clarified butter, or in other words, Ghee. Now I was really surprised and to be very honest, worried, that it might break me out, melt in the sun and other similar things. I mean, who smears Ghee on their face and leaves it there? I have done butter facials with amazing results but never Ghee.

My grandma used to make me apply Ghee on my lips whenever it got dry and I remembered that when i read about this company. So needless to say I was excited and Now I am even more excited.

The product comes in a little 5GM pot and costs about 125INR and can be bought here online.

Sadly, it is available only in one place, goodlife, now. But they did mention to me that they would be available in more online stores soon. And I’m looking forward to that since my favourite sites are urbantouch and Medplusbeauty.

The colour that was sent to me matched my hand perfectly and is a little dark for me right now (summer) so I assume that in winter I will have to mix the light and the dark together to achieve my skin colour.

Ok, gotta state this, the bottle is teeny tiny. Is is smaller than the MAC concealer pots. In fact, it is smaller than the Fluidline. It almost looks like a mini concealer bottle. To be honest, when I received the package I thought that i had gotten really cute samples and I was excited.

Now to the actual product: What does the company claim: Certified organic clarified butter (Cow ghee) and kokum butter (garcinia indica) rejuvenate your skin as pure mineral colours blend with your skin for a lustrous l uminous complexion to give you that flawless look. The goodness of ghee and kokum will protect your skin from environmental factors. The natural mineral colours will brighten your skin for a fresh look throughout the day.

My opinion:

It has a hard texture. It isn’t soft at all like I imagined it would be. I honestly imagined it to feel very melted ghee-like. Not like frozen ghee. But it is really thick and at times hard to get out of the pot. But then again, I live in a hot climate and for me this is perfect because it didn’t melt, didn’t become unusable and didn’t budge off my face.

I think you can see the swatch. It blends perfectly on the skin on my hand but my hand is much more tanned than my face so I had to mix in a bit of my lighter toned (winter)MAC concealer over it to use. Why did i mix the concealer instead of the foundation? Because the textures matched.

My biggest peeve is that the ingredients list isn’t complete. I am sure these aren’t the only ingredients since i left it out and ants didn’t attack it I would appreciate it if they listed their inactive or other ingredients too.

I think we should push for a law to be passed that companies should list all their ingredients on their products since hardly any companies in India do.

Review: Vedic Line Plus Exfo 10 Face Scrub

Remember when I reviewed my face scrubs and I said that I had not yet found the perfect scrub because things were either too strong or too light. For both the face and the body I suffered with this kind of problem.

I found one now. Something good, something amazing and something that leaves my skin soft, glowing and most importantly, NOT DRY.

Vedic line plus Exfo 10 avocado face scrub is priced at INR 175/- for 75 ML bot you can get it on Urbantouch for 157/- INR. Here.

Description: “This dermatologically tested face scrub is gentle on all skin types. It helps in removing the unhealthy cells and also purifies them. When regularly used, freshen ups the skin because it is formulated with fine Scrub Grains, Avocado Oil, Amino Fruits Acid and Glycolic Acid.”

Ingredients:

It comes out very thick and squishy. Kind of like paint from a thin nozzle. The smell might be strong for some but I find it very comfortable and light.

AS you can see it is very thick. Can you see the granules? The granules are the problem for me. They are a little rough but it is perfect for my body. Although I wouldn’t use it on my face except once a month or so.

Review: Iraya Algae Body Serum

I’m sure you all know my skin type for by and you know that I have issues with humidity…. I have really dry skin on my body but I cannot use heavy moisturisers because I live in a humid climate… and that leaves my skin parched and irritated not to mention very itchy.

I have to resort to moisturising body washes to be able to skip lotions so that I don’t suffer with pustules and red angry bumps.

The Iraya Algae serum body lotion is very lightweight and is priced at 495 INR for 250 ML…

What the company claims:“Restores and replenishes micronutrients & moisture to skin. With the Spirulina, green algae and aloevera,this magical mixture wonderfully moisturises and smoothens the skin. Leaves a hint of the exotic aroma of the East, keeping your senses revived, all day.”

Usage:

Usage:Immediately after bathing, apply all over the body, including the hands and feet with smooth upward strokes. Regular use softens, smoothens and moisturises the skin.

Ingredients:spirulina, green algae, aloevera”

It is really lightweight. I cannot stress that point enough…. It feels like I’m applying water onto my skin. Well, slightly thicker water but water nonetheless. And you might think that such a lightweight moisturiser will not moisturise… well, you’re wrong. It moisturises beautifully and I don’t need a moisturiser all day.

The picture makes it look thick but it more gel like rather than a liquid. The texture I mean, the product is quite liquidy. The colour is a very light creamy green…. it almost looks like cream but it has a tinge of green to it. When it is massaged into the skin it looks like it is lathering but I guess it isn’t because it is a body lotion…. I haven’t had any problems with the product so I’m guessing that it is just the way it goes on.

Review: Vedic Line Plus BB cream

We all want to try out the much raved about BB creams and when an Indian company comes out with one of them we call naturally HAVE to go and pick it up, if not for any other reason, atleast to boast that it is as good as the foreign ones if not as good as the raved about Asian ones.

Vedic Line has come up with a range of new products under the line VedicLine+ as you would have seen from my earlier post.

I shall be review two of the products that I got so that you guys know what it feels like.

Starting with, you got it, the BB cream. Now I spoke with someone from the company and it is only available in one colour now but others will be launching I presume.

What the company claims: “Evenly covers blemishes, wrinkles and spots, blocks UV rays.This blemish balm cream serves as a foundation for application of make up and protects the skin from UV rays for upto 12 hours. Does not come off easily by sweat or sebum and leaves the skin spotless and wrinkle free.”

Now I got the second part of the description from Urbantouch since the vedicline+ site is still not up and running. But you get the drift.

The packaging is really cute me thinks. I would definitely love to pick up anything that looks as cute as this. But while it looks pink on the site it is more purpley.

Review: The Natures Co Camomile Dusting Powder

It’s summer and it’s humid. Let’s face it, the only upside to living in India in the summer are the lovely mangoes. You can’t wear short skirts or short shorts, can’t wear belly tops and anything else that would keep you cool. Atleast not everywhere and let’s face it, we aren’t going to be feeling hot when we’re out in the star hotel’s lounge, we are going to be feeling hot when we’re out in the market shopping for groceries and suchlike.

Now I have folliculitis. Does anyone know what this is? If not here’s a wikipedia link for you to understand it. Now mine isn’t so bad, it only comes when it’s humid, or if I've waxed or shaved and only comes in the legs and the arms. Nowhere else. But i cannot use heavy body creams or lotions and certainly nothing that has petroleum jelly in them or anything else that is going to block pores. But you can understand how it makes life hell for me….

Now the thing is, I live in Chennai, which pretty much sucks because it is not only horridly humid, but i can’t roam about in shorts. Hell people stare if I roam around in pants that are above my knees. So I end up wearing pants or tights with a long flowy top so that atleast one half of me is breezed out. But what about the other half? I use this camomile dusting powder.

Now this is part of the package sent to me by The Nature’s co. It is part of their Atmospure collection. And it is priced at 225 INR for 100 GMS.

What the company claims: “Relaxing calming and soothing. Kaolin works as a great absorbent and Cocoa smoothes the skin.Slip into Luxurious Body Dusting Powder that is infused with the relaxing Chamomile essential oil leaving you feel calm and soothed. Kaolin works as a great absorbent and Cocoa smoothes the skin. Sprinkle into palm of hand and gently pat onto body after bathing or showering.”

I love it. I thoroughly love it. I mean, it is very comfortable to use and it has helped me greatly in the sense that I can actually wear jeans in summer without getting random red bumps on my legs which is a welcome change to all the itching and the lacto calamine lotion and all that jazz which didn’t really work well.

For those of you who are germaphobes, it comes in a sprinkle can like we get for herbs and spices. And is sealed with this so you know that it’s coming directly from the manufacturer.

It has the same consistency as regular powder. I like the fragrance as it isn’t too much but at the same time It is pleasant. Some might not like the scent but it isn’t such a big deal for me. Read the rest here.
